City of Sydney committees back First Nations framework and Oxford Street heritage listings

The Corporate, Finance, Properties and Tenders Committee recommended the First Nations Strategic Framework 2026-2030. This framework is a new approach to strengthen the work of the City of Sydney with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The Transport, Heritage and Planning Committee recommended a planning proposal to locally heritage list three buildings in the Oxford Street precinct. These buildings include the former Ruby Reds Building, the former taxi club and the bookshop.

The Corporate, Finance, Properties and Tenders Committee recommended a varied Integrated Planning and Reporting Program and Budget 2026/27. The committee heard the city's investment and cash position was $667.5 million at 31 May 2026.

The Cultural, Creative and Nightlife Committee unanimously recommended the cash and value-in-kind grants for the creative grant program. The Community Services and Facilities Committee also considered social grants for the community services and food support grant programs.
