City of Sydney committee backs new park management plan

The committee recommended that council adopt the draft generic plan of management for parks, sports grounds and general community use land. This plan would replace the generic plan of management from 2012.

The committee recommended that council classify South Sydney Rotary Park at 53A Henderson Road, Eveleigh, as operational land. This is an interim measure to support the management and use of the land until it can be reclassified as community land.

The committee recommended that council approve an agreement deed with landowners at 49 Henderson Road, Eveleigh, to allow the city to access and demolish equipment on private land.

The committee recommended that council approve the write-off of irrecoverable debt from a tenant at 295 Pitt Street, Sydney.

A report recommended that council note that 65 leaseholders with satisfactory annual performance reviews for 2025 will continue their current accommodation grant leases.

The committee carried, with two abstentions, the recommendation on a report on investments held as at 31 March 2026, which showed a total investment and cash position of $689.2 million.
