Councillors considered the project scope for the Belmore Park renewal, which aims to address aging infrastructure and the needs of park users in an area used by pedestrians, cyclists, and people experiencing homelessness.

Council unanimously carried an amended motion on the adaptive reuse of the Newtown Tram Depot. Councillor Maxwell cited $9 million in remediation works by the state government on the site, which has been vacant for over 60 years.

The council carried a motion to investigate improving mobile internet connectivity in the southern part of the city. The item highlighted signal issues in Rosebery, Alexandria, Zetland, Redfern and Erskineville.

The Deputy Lord Mayor moved a motion seeking a public high school in Green Square. She said that the Alex Park Community School is expected to reach capacity by the end of 2027.

Council considered grants from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Collaboration Fund for four organisations, including First Nations Response Limited and Gadigal Information Service.
